Over It
.....Frederick that is. Seriously when I entered college 3 years ago. I can truly say I haven't looked back since. I'm very blessed and fortunate to have made it out of there. If I wasn't away at school I honestly don't know what my life state would be right now. So when people say "oh you've changed" hmmm, damn right I did. I've learned so much about myself since being away at school. A learning experience I wish many of my friends had the opportunity to enjoy. Now my life is moving and Frederick is in the past. I have no doubt in my mind that anybody that has moved on from there wouldn't say the same thing. And no I haven't forgot the fact that yeah I was born and raised there. Being in a new atmosphere has showed me there's more to life then settling for a minimum wage job or having babies to keep a relationship. Which is all I see when I think of my fellow peers "back home." So forgive me if my outlook on life has changed. PS. I'm educated from the #4 HBCU in the country. What did u expect? *guilty laugh*

Welllllllp...coming from a future graduate of the #2 (really number one cause Spelman doesn't count!) hbcu in the country I can say I whole-heartedly agree! Not trying to play any of the contacts and friends I still have there (and the number isn't large) but I cannot understand how generations of families have stayed there. The opportunites that are a waitng us can't be found in fred-rock and I know that to be true. No matter how much people try to convince me that it;s the perfect place to raise your family. Call it my impending "bourgeois" attitude but I REFUSE to be stuck working at Wally-world to pay for my two children's daycare at the age of 19...
LMAO I'm so weak off the last line. As much shit as I talk seriously I couldn't get pregnant till I'm married and stable.
